Optometry is a specialized health care profession that involves the examination of the eye and related structures for defects or abnormalities.

Community Optometrists, having successfully completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Optometry, are issued with the Annual Practising Certificates (APC) by the Ministry of Health, have the necessary clinical, professional and personal skills to ensure optimal delivery of patient care in the primary care healthcare setting.

 Community Optometrists are registered under the Malaysian Optical Council, and governed by the Optical  Act 1991.

 Community Optometrists on board Rhazes TeleOpto complies with the rules and regulations set by the Ministry of Health and are registered members of the Association of Malaysian Optometrists. Being one of the most accessible Healthcare Professionals, Community Optometrists on Rhazes TeleOpto are able to perform Triage, or referrals to other Community Pharmacists in the primary healthcare setting for minor eye ailments, or to the Ophtalmologists in the secondary healthcare setting.
